Less Home and More Hub

Paul Saunders runs a local business and tells us why he plans to spend less time working from home and more time at Drymen Business Hub…

When I heard about the idea from Fraser C Hub to open a business hub above their new showroom, I thought that it was a great idea.

I run a marketing business in Drymen and Fraser C Robb has been a client of mine for nearly 5 years. I met Lorna Robb by chance whilst making a film about rural careers in Luss and started working with the business soon after.

Despite being active on-line I find that my business come mostly from face to face meetings and referrals. That’s why I am delighted that Drymen Business Hub will provide a place for me to meet more businesses. it’s not just about the chance of getting more work, it’s about sharing ideas and knowledge.

The ‘Hot Desk’ facilities will be a great addition to our part of West Stirlingshire. I regularly find some entrepreneurial people running their innovative small businesses tucked away down tracks, or in houses. The opportunity to book and use the new work spaces at the Drymen Business Hub will hopefully encourage people to leave their kitchens and outhouses to take advantage of these excellent facilities.

To work from home you have to be pretty self disciplined and there are definitely some perks. However, I think that increased human interaction can only be a benefit, especially allowing the chance to achieve a greater home / work life balance.
