Advantages of Country Life over City Dwelling

About four fifths of the UK population live in an urban setting in towns and cities.

Both City life and rural living both have advantages and disadvantages. And one type of living might not suit another type of person, but in recent times there seems to be an increased move toward living in the country, especially among young families. If you are considering a move to the country but are not sure if it is a good idea, it may help to look at some of the benefits of country life.

Here are some of the main reasons why a growing number of people decide to move to country:The countryside offers peace and tranquillity. Compare this to a City and towns which can be noisy ,packed with people and it is virtually impossible to step outside of your door and not hear a car or see other people. Most cities especially the large ones such as London never sleep, a Monday night in the centre is like a Saturday night. In the country, people have no problems with privacy or constant noise from the traffic. You do not have to see anyone if you do not want to and often do not hear a car driving by for the entire day.

Feeling closer to nature.

In the country, you are woken up by the singing of the birds rather than by the noise from the traffic.Homes in the countryside are surrounded by fields and trees which has a cathartic effect on both the mind and the body. In the country, you do not have to leave your home to feel closer to nature because here, the nature comes to you and it is quite common to see wildlife such as birds, foxes, rabbits and even deer in your backyard.

Open space.

City dwellers chronically lack open spaces and children play computer games or are stuck on social media with less outdoor play. But in the country, although there is excellent Wi-Fi connection, children have greater opportunity to have safe outdoor play. The benefits on them with this is major and central to physical and mental development.

Ability to produce your own food.

In the country, you can easy grow enough fruits and vegetables for own consumption. You don't have to be an expert but with a bit of patience, sun and rain you could be eating your own crop in a few months.

Clean air.

Due to much reduced prevalence of cars and factories, you will not be inhaling any potentially toxic fumes in the country.Clean air is certainly one of the main advantages of country life over city dwelling.Slow pace. There is less emphasis on speed and urgency in the country. Time runs more slowly taking away a great deal of stress that is experienced by the city dwellers who tend to be always in a hurry to be or go to a somewhere.

Low crime rates.

Official figures prove that life in the country is much safer than in the city when it comes to crime. Although not immune from all crime, people feel safer at night and living on their own.
